Shingo Takagi has challenged AEW’s Konosuke Takeshita to a match at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19.
Takeshita had just defeated TJP to retain the AEW International Championship at New Japan’s latest US-based event, Fighting Spirit Unleashed.
After the match, Takeshita issued an open challenge for AEW x NJPW Wrestle Dynasty at the Tokyo Dome on January 5th.
NEVER Openweight Champion Takagi came to the ring and complimented Takeshita on his latest win. Instead of Wrestle Dynasty, Takagi said he wanted to find out which champion was the best at Wrestle Kingdom on January 4th.

Seemingly accepting the challenge, Takeshita hoisted his belt at Takagi.
The pair both competed in the 2024 G1 Climax but in separate blocks and did not face each other.
The challenges did not end there, though, as Tomohiro Ishii then emerged to confront both men, saying he wanted to face whoever won on January 4th at Wrestle Dynasty the following night.
