Brooks Jensen will get his first-ever televised match against NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo next week, although it won’t be for the title.

It was announced Wednesday that D’Angelo and Jensen will square off in a singles bout on the November 19 episode of NXT.

The matchup was booked after a segment on Tuesday’s episode of the show, where Jensen alongside Shawn Spears confronted D’Angelo inside his restaurant. Spears, despite mentioning his intention of taking the North American title off D’Angelo, mentioned that he wanted ally Jensen to face him.

Spears left his reasoning for the matchup vague. “I don’t question the way ‘The Don’ does things, so don’t question mine,” he said.

Jensen and D’Angelo have only faced off in singles competition as part of non-televised NXT cards this year.

Here’s an updated look at next week’s show:

  • Andre Chase vs. Ridge Holland (NXT Championship #1 Contenders Match)
  • Tony D’Angelo vs. Brooks Jensen
  • Iron Survivor Challenge Qualifying Matches
  • Ashantee “Thee” Adonis & Karmen Petrovic vs. Dion Lennox & Brinley Reece
