IWGP Women’s Championship match made official for NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19

IWGP Women’s Title bout added to the fray.

At the NJPW x STARDOM Historic X-Over II event, Mayu Iwatani successfully defended her IWGP Women’s Championship against Momo Watanabe. 

Post-match, making her way to the ring was AZM. She would go on to issue a challenge to Mayu for a title match at Wrestle Kingdom 19 on January 4th.

The match was made official by New Japan and with that announcement, here’s the updated lineup for the show:

  • IWGP World Heavyweight Championship: Zack Sabre Jr. (c) vs. Shota Umino
  • IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship: DOUKI (c) vs. El Desperado
  • IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship: David Finlay (c) vs. Yota Tsuji
  • NJPW World Television Championship — Three-Way Match: Ren Narita (c) vs. Ryohei Oiwa vs. Jeff Cobb
  • IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships — Four-Way Match: Kevin Knight & KUSHIDA (c) vs. T.M.D.K. (Robbie Eagles & Kosei Fujita) vs. Catch 2/2 (TJP & Francesco Akira) vs. BULLET CLUB War Dogs (Clark Connors & Drilla Moloney)
  • Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. EVIL
  • IWGP Women’s Championship: Mayu Iwatani (c) vs. AZM
  • NEVER Openweight Championship: Shingo Takagi (c) vs. Konosuke Takeshita
