Bryan Danielson: “We don’t know what’s going to happen with my neck”

Bryan Danielson spoke about his transition away from professional wrestling.

The former AEW champion spoke with his wife Brie on The Nikki & Brie Show about the adjustment since his loss to Jon Moxley at WrestleDream last month in Tacoma, Washington.

Danielson noted he was very cautious about avoiding the word “retirement” after his win against Swerve Strickland at All In, although noted using that word in the lead-up to the match at Wembley Stadium.

He was unsure of his future because “We don’t know what’s going to happen with my neck.”

Danielson added that since returning in 2018, the “nervous energy” before a match has never returned, but he did get excited, especially when things “went wrong,” and it became a challenge to try to salvage things and stimulate his brain in those scenarios.

He said that he still wakes up in the middle of the night with ideas for wrestling, but that isn’t useful now and he still loves pro wrestling.
