Indianapolis will host Friday Night SmackDown on the night before the Royal Rumble.
The host city of the premium live event has added the January 31 edition of SmackDown, which is set for the Gainbridge Fieldhouse as part of Royal Rumble weekend.
The Royal Rumble is set for Lucas Oil Stadium the following evening and is part of WWE’s multi-year deal with the Indiana Sports Corp.

Indianapolis will host WWE’s three largest stadium events at Lucas Oil Stadium including WrestleMania and a two-night SummerSlam in future years as part of a first-of-its-kind partnership struck between WWE and Indiana Sports Corp earlier this year. Additionally, Raw, SmackDown, NXT and WWE live events will emanate from arenas across Indiana including Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and Evansville throughout the partnership.
It is also confirmed in the press release from WWE that the Royal Rumble will have a 6 p.m. ET start time reflecting the same start time as the Survivor Series.
