Sami Zayn vs. Drew McIntyre made official for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

Sami went to G.M. Adam Pearce to get the match locked in.

WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event special is scheduled for December 14th. With the show date inching closer, a new match has been made official for the event.

After speaking to Raw General Manager Adam Pearce, Sami Zayn secured a singles match against Drew McIntyre at the upcoming special.

McIntyre made his return to WWE TV for the first time since losing his Hell in a Cell match to CM Punk at Bad Blood. McIntyre targeted Zayn for his comeback and during the 12/9 Raw, a vignette aired and McIntyre confirmed he ambushed Jey Uso before going after Sami.

He set his sights on them because they opted to fight side by side with Roman Reigns in WarGames at Survivor Series. In regards to CM Punk, McIntyre said at least Punk took a ‘bribe’ to be on their team. The bribe he’s referring to is the unknown favor that Paul Heyman owes him.

As of this writing, here’s the Saturday Night’s Main Event lineup:

  • WWE Women’s United States Championship Tournament Final: TBD vs. TBD
  • Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens
  • WWE Women’s World Championship: Liv Morgan (c) vs. IYO SKY
  • WWE World Heavyweight Championship — Triple Threat Match: GUNTHER (c) vs. Finn Bálor vs. Damian Priest
  • Sami Zayn vs. Drew McIntyre
