Sabre Jr. takes home the award.
Tokyo Sports rolled out the list of winners for their 2024 sports awards. Taking the MVP award was New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Zack Sabre Jr.
Sabre Jr. is the first non-Japanese wrestler to win the award since Bob Sapp in 2002.
Sabre Jr. is the reigning IWGP World Heavyweight Champion and coming up in January, he’ll be headlining Wrestle Kingdom 19 by defending the IWGP World Title against Shota Umino.
The next day on January 5th, whether he retains over Umino or not, he’ll be facing Ricochet at Wrestle Dynasty.
