Prior to this week’s episode of NXT going live, Holyfield appeared in a singles match against Anthony Luke. Graphics around the venue suggested that the match was taped for WWE Legends & Future Greats (LFG), a show which was announced by the promotion last week.
WWE LFG will see a group of legendary wrestles including Shawn Michaels, Booker T and Paul Levesque mentor a series of up-and-comers. A statement from A&E’s Rob Sharenow described the program as a show that “combines in-ring action, behind-the-scenes reality, high-stakes drama and some of WWE’s greatest icons.”
WWE LFG is expected to premiere in early 2025.
After floating around the NFL for a couple of years, appearing as part of practice squads for the Cincinnati Bengals and Philadelphia Eagles, Holyfield was pictured among the latest class of WWE Performance Center trainees last month.
