AEW Rampage Winter is Coming Results

  • Deonna Purrazzo over Shazza McKenzie via Fujiwara Armbar in 1:24

Matt Cardona vs. Bryan Keith

Rampage kicked off with footage from Ring of Honor last night with Matt Cardona putting Chris Jericho through a table during their contract signing. This led to The Bad Apple Bryan Keith taking on Matt Cardona with Chris Jericho on commentary.

This was a competitive match with Cardona giving Keith quite a bit. But in the end, Cardona hit Radio Silence to pick up the win.

Harley, the Queen of Rampage.

Toni Storm, Back in Action

Timeful Toni Storm was out next for her in-ring return taking on Harley Cameron. Interesting to note here is that both Storm and Cameron are from Gold Coast, Australia. An early highlight of this match was Cameron’s high-pitched screaming while putting a boot to Storm’s throat in the corner. She then looked at the camera and said, “We’ll be right back and we’ll see if this idiot remembers who she is”. Cameron is the best.

In the end, as one might expect, Toni Storm scored the victory after her patented hip attack in the corner followed by Storm Zero. Of note is that Storm briefly teased a Timeless maneuver only to seemingly wake up and go back to old school Storm.

Brody King/Kommander Promo Package

Brody King vs. Kommander in the Continental Classic was announced to be taking place next Friday on Rampage.

Deonna Purrazzo vs. Shazza McKenzie

Next was Deonna Purrazzo making short work of Shazza McKenzie with the Fujiwara Armbar.

Kris Statlander Still Focused on Moné

Alex Marvez interviewed Kris Statlander who said she always moves forward and she’ll be watching the TBS Championship match between Mercedes Moné and Anna Jay as she has unfinished business.

The Don Callis Family

Next up, Tony Schiavone welcomed The Don Callis Family to the ring. Callis got on the mic and harped on Kyle Fletcher’s wins over Will Ospreay at Full Gear and Okada in the Continental Classic. The current points leader of the Blue League, Fletcher focused his attention on Mark Briscoe who he’ll face tomorrow night on Collision.

Callis then said that no one in the back is big enough or bad enough to face them. This brought out Powerhouse Hobbs and Mark Davis for their scheduled main event.

Hobbs & Davis vs. Takeshita & Archer

The Rampage main event saw former Don Callis Family member Powerhouse Hobbs teaming with Mark Davis to take on Konosuke Takeshita and Lance Archer.

Takeshita and Hobbs took center stage in this match as the crowd chanted “Meat” at them. In the end, Powerhouse Hobbs picked up the pinfall with his Spinebuster. After the match, Takeshita attempted a cheapshot on Hobbs but it was countered into another spinebuster. Hobbs picked up Takeshita’s International title and posed with it to end the show.

Final Thoughts

This episode of Rampage felt like a step down from previous weeks. It continues to intrigue that suddenly AEW is able (or willing?) to promote Ring of Honor on their television, including clips from their subscription service. Overall, this is a skippable Rampage. Next week might be better but it will be going head-to-head with Final Battle.
