Cody Rhodes sports Winged Eagle Championship for title defense against Kevin Owens at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

Rhodes retains in the main event.

Closing out the Saturday Night’s Main Event special on NBC and Peacock was Cody Rhodes defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens.

Joining the match to call the action on commentary was Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura.

As Rhodes was making his way to the ring, he unveiled that he was sporting the Winged Eagle Championship. That belt existed as WWF/E’s World Championship from 1988-1998.

In the match between Rhodes and Owens, referees Charles Robinson and Eddie Orengo were both inadvertently taken out. Owens went on to introduce a chair into the fold. Rhodes hit his Cross Rhodes finisher on Owens onto the chair to secure the win.

The win was Rhodes’ seventh televised title defense since winning the belt at WrestleMania XL.
