NJPW Road to Tokyo Dome results: final show before Wrestle Kingdom

On Monday, NJPW staged its final show before January 4th’s Wrestle Kingdom 19.

The main event, at Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, saw IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr. team with Ryohei Oiwa to take on Shota Umino & Tomohiro Ishii.

The finish saw Shota Umino, who will challenge ZSJ at Wrestle Kingdom, pin Oiwa for the win.

Monday’s show also saw El Phantasmo’s official return match after medical leave. He was on the winning side in a ten-man tag match.

Earlier, the four teams that will compete at Wrestle Kingdom for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships brawled, causing two no-contests in a row.
