Updated: El Hijo del Vikingo injured at Progress Wrestling event, hopes to be back within weeks

Progress Wrestling has stated that El Hijo del Vikingo suffered an injury at one of its events on Sunday.

The 27-year-old confirmed that he had hurt his left knee and commented that he hoped to be back in action within a few weeks.

Vikingo was facing Lykos II at Progress Chapter 175: Unboxing VII at the Electric Ballroom in London.

Progress posted the following:

Fans in attendance posted on social media that Vikingo took an awkward landing from a Code Red attempt. The referee signaled the “X” to indicate to the back that an apparent legitimate injury had occurred.

The match was called off and Vikingo was helped to the back.

His opponent later posted:

Ian Hamilton of backbodydrop.com later reported that Vikingo was able to work the merchandise tables during the show’s intermission.

On Sunday evening, Vikingo posted an update to Instagram. Translated from Spanish, he commented: “God knows why he puts these tests on me, I have faith that it will be a few weeks, thank you very much to all the fans in London for such a wonderful welcome”.
