Ricky Starks made a surprise appearance at a DEFY Wrestling event on Sunday night, facing off with KENTA.

The ‘Blueprint’ event, at Washington Hall in Seattle, WA, featured KENTA successfully defending the DEFY World Championship against Schaff.

After the match, Starks’ music played and he emerged through the curtains. The pair faced off in the ring. No match between the two was immediately set.

The confrontation ended after KENTA hoisted his championship belt in the air and left.

Starks is under contract with AEW but has not appeared for the promotion since March. Among his indie appearances in 2024 was a surprise showing at GCW Dream On in November.

Shortly afterward, he was announced for three GCW shows but was quickly pulled from them.

His next confirmed date is House of Glory’s Watch The Throne event in Chicago on January 17th, when he is billed to face Mike Santana.
