Thekla cost Athena the International Women’s Cup four-way.
Kicking off the in-ring action for Wrestle Dynasty was the International Women’s Cup four-way. The match featured Willow Nightingale versus Momo Watanabe versus Persephone versus ROH Women’s World Champion Athena.
Thekla accompanied her H.A.T.E. stablemate Watanabe to the ring. There was a point in the match when Athena appeared to have secured the victory, but Thekla pulled the referee out of the ring. It led to Watanabe hitting Athena over the head with an object and pinning her to win the four-way.
With the win, Watanabe gets to have a title match of her choosing from any of the promotions involved with Wrestle Dynasty.
While backstage, Athena and Thekla had an altercation and then she stated that she’ll be defending the ROH Women’s World Title against her at STARDOM’s 1/13 show.
Athena competed at STARDOM New Year Dream. She teamed with Thekla and they defeated Mina Shirakawa and Tay Melo.
