Phantasmo continues to overcome the odds.
The third championship match of the night at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19 was a four-way for the World Television Title. The bout featured El Phantasmo, Ryohei Oiwa, Jeff Cobb and the reigning champion Ren Narita.
It was Narita’s first defense of the belt since winning it at King of Pro-Wrestling in October.
The final sequences of the match saw Phantasmo string together a series of moves to clear the lane for a victory. He broke up Cobb’s pin, dove to the outside onto Oiwa and then hit a springboard maneuver onto Narita to pick up the win and Television Championship.
Phantasmo made his return to New Japan in late 2024 after overcoming testicular cancer. He is now the sixth talent to be NJPW World TV Champion.
