Shinsuke Nakamura and LA Knight will run it back next week.
Nearly two months after they met at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames, Nakamura and LA Knight will collide once again in a matchup for the United States Championship. A clash between the two was announced this week for Smackdown’s January 10 episode from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.
Knight called for a rematch against Nakamura on this week’s Smackdown, attacking the current champ after he scored a pinfall win over Andrade.
“One way or another, I’m coming to collect what’s owed to me,” said Knight after his run-in with Nakamura. Later in the episode, he confirmed that he was granted a rematch against Nakamura.
LA Knight’s 119-day run as United States Champion came to an end in late November, as Nakamura beat him in just under 10 minutes at Survivor Series. Nakamura hadn’t appeared on WWE TV since that win up until this week when he beat Andrade. Now shortly after his return, Nakamura will have to get past his past rival to keep hold of his title.
