Penta formally arrives.
The first match of the January 13th WWE Raw on Netflix saw Chad Gable taking on the debuting Penta. It was his first match since he competed at an independent event in Mexico in September.
The crowd in San Jose, California knew Penta’s ‘Cero Miedo’ chant and there was a guest of his in the front row that was shedding tears when he showed up. Commentator Michael Cole brought up Penta’s past accomplishments in TNA, AAA and Lucha Underground.
Penta put Gable away with the Penta Driver and post-match, he was interviewed in-ring by Jackie Redmond. He thanked San Jose and said WWE is his new home. He added that he’s been waiting on this moment. Penta went on to speak Spanish and received big reactions from the crowd.
He stated that it’s not only a new era for WWE being on Netflix, but it’s also the Penta era. He signed off with his Cero Miedo catchphrase and then went to hug his guests in the front row.
