This past Tuesday’s episode of NXT achieved its fourth-largest audience since moving to the CW despite a sizable drop in its core demo.

The January 14 episode averaged 779,000 viewers and 224,000 viewers (0.17) in the 18-49 demographic on CW.

The audience was down 2% from last week but was still the fourth-largest since moving to CW behind the first two editions featuring CM Punk and Randy Orton and New Year’s Evil with The Rock.

The 18-49 audience saw a larger decline of 21% from last week. It was the largest audience in that demo since December 11, excluding New Year’s Evil.

Last week’s episode has undergone a correction due to last week’s episode not airing in the L.A. market and the news programming in its slot being attributed to NXT’s figures last week. The adjusted numbers for the New Year’s Evil special on January 7 are 798,000 viewers and 285,000 (0.21) in the demo with the L.A. market not accounted for because it was pre-empted due to the coverage of the fires in California. A New Year’s Evil replay aired on CW this past Saturday with 298,000 viewers and 0.04 in the demo.

This week’s episode featured the following breakdowns:

8 – 8:30 p.m. ET: 858,000 viewers (0.19 in 18-49, 0.12 in 18-34)

8:30 – 9 p.m. ET: 796,000 viewers (0.16 in 18-49, 0.10 in 18-34)

9 – 9:30 p.m. ET: 752,000 viewers (0.16 in 18-49, 0.10 in 18-34)

9:30 – 10 p.m. ET: 710,000 viewers (0.15 in 18-49, 0.11 in 18-34)

Tuesday’s competition included TGL Golf on ESPN, which had 1,005,000 viewers and 0.33 in the 18-49 demographic. There was an NBA doubleheader on ESPN with the early game between the Cavs and Pacers averaging 956,000 viewers and 0.27 in 18-49 followed by the Nuggets vs. Mavericks with 853,000 viewers and 0.27 in the demo against the final 25 minutes of NXT.

Of the thirteen programs airing in prime time on broadcast networks, NXT was #10 topping two episodes of NCIS: Origins (0.15 each) on CBS and The Irrational on NBC (0.16).
