This past Saturday’s viewership figures include data for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event and the Homecoming edition of AEW Collision.
WWE’s return to NBC for the second installment of the series in the new era averaged 1,494,000 viewers and 449,000 viewers (0.33) in the 18-49 demographic, per Wrestlenomics.
The December 14 special averaged 1,590,000 viewers and 0.42 in the demo with this month’s special falling 6% in viewership and 19% in the core demo.
It is worth adding that these figures don’t account for additional streaming viewership on Peacock.
The live AEW Homecoming edition of Collison from Daily’s Place aired against SNME with 250,000 viewers and 92,000 viewers (0.07) in the 18-49 demographic on TNT, according to Wrestlenomics.
It led to its overall viewership dropping by 27% and the 18-49 audience experiencing a 34% decline from the previous week. It was Collision’s lowest audience since December 14 (when it also aired against SNME) and the lowest demo audience in its normal time slot since October 5 for an episode airing against the Bad Blood premium live event.
WWE and AEW both aired against the L.A. Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors on ABC, which averaged 3,046,000 viewers and 0.70 in 18-49 as well as back-to-back college basketball games on ESPN.
Collision was hurt significantly in Canada with the show attracting 28,000 viewers and 10,000 in the 25-54 demographic on the USA Network, which is down from 60,000 and 40,000 respectively last week and its lowest numbers since moving to the station earlier this month.
Honestly, that’s more than what I was expecting. I figured 1.2 million would be that number they’d hit. I’d that that as a success for the sesond SNME show.
