Will Ospreay vs. Brian Cage (w/ Lance Archer)
Don Callis joins commentary but before the match starts he gets on the mic and tells Will Ospreay to take a look at the screen, as we see Kenny Omega has been attacked in the back. Brian Cage takes advantage and goes after Ospreay, but he gets sent to the outside with a hurricanrana, but Cage takes out Ospreay on the outside with a shoulder block. Ospreay tries to jump off the barricade, but Cage catches him into a vertical suplex position, and walks with him to the other side of the ring by the commentary table, before delivering the suplex. As Cage distracts Rick Knox, Lance Archer & Callis attack Ospreay. Cage stays in control after this as the crowd tries to cheer on Ospreay. Ospreay stops Cage in the corner, before hitting him with a springboard elbow strike for a two. Ospreay sends Cage to the outside where he hits him with a Sasuke Special. Cage returns with a lariat and a Liger Bomb, but Ospreay still kicks out at two. Archer gets on the apron, but Ospreay sends Cage into him before hitting Cage with a Styles Clash to get the pin and the win.
Winner: Will Ospreay by pinfall at 12:48
As soon as the match is over Archer enters and starts attacking Ospreay. Kenny Omega’s music hits as he makes his way out with a chair and takes out Cage & Archer, but as their backs are turned they get ambushed by Kyle Fletcher & Konosuke Takeshita who take them out with stereo Tombstone Piledrivers. All five members of The Don Callis Family continue to attack them after using a chair.
The Last Outlaw’s Last Ride
Renee Paquette is in the back trying to get a word with Swerve Strickland, but ‘Hangman’ Adam Page interrupts looking for him. MJF walks in and has a staredown with Page. Renee tries to ask MJF about Chris Jericho, as MJF says he’s not going to let anybody ruin his mood tonight and his words are a prophecy. He tells Jarrett that tonight he will have to go out there alone and have to face one of the most dangerous men in Claudio Castagnoli, all because he refused his offer. He has a new offer for Jarrett and it’s one that he can’t decline and calls it The Last Outlaw’s Last Ride.
Hell Is Just The Beginning
We go to Powerhouse Hobbs who says he wasn’t cleared to travel to Dynamite tonight after his brawl with Big Bill on Collision. He tells Bill when he’s cleared to come back, that hell is just the beginning.
Claudio Castagnoli vs. Jeff Jarrett
If Jeff Jarrett wins here, he gets an AEW World Championship title shot against Jon Moxley. Jarrett starts the match with some armdrags and punches in the corner, but Claudio Castagnoli comes right back with a big lariat to knock Jarrett down. Jarrett comes back with a Figure Four, but Claudio escapes to the outside as we see Wheeler Yuta show up through the crowd as we head to break.
We come back with them trading punches and uppercuts until Jarrett traps Claudio in the corner and starts kicking away at his leg. Claudio comes back with a Giant Swing, but his knee gives out so he transitions into a Sharpshooter, but Jarrett reverses it. Yuta gets on the apron, but Jarrett knocks him out. Claudio grabs a chair but misses Jarrett with it. Jarrett tries The Stroke, but Jon Moxley runs in and takes him out with the Paradigm Shift, while Yuta is distracting Bryce Remsburg the whole time. Claudio follows with the Neutralizer on Jarrett, but instead of covering him, he hits another one before getting the pin and the win.
Winner: Claudio Castagnoli by pinfall at 10:06
As Jarrett gets up, he gets a Double J chant but that gets interrupted by the music of MJF. MJF enters the ring and tells Jarrett that he just wanted to come out here to say…, but before he can say anything else he takes out Jarrett with a punch with his diamond ring. MJF gets back on the mic and says he respects his elders and that’s precisely why he’s not going to say ‘I told you so’.
Formal Setting
Renee is in the back with Ricochet who says that Swerve Strickland is nowhere to be found, but if he interferes during Ricochet’s match at all tonight, he will have to forfeit his match for next week in Atlanta. Ricochet tells Renee that they will talk in a formal setting this Saturday on Collision, but says the forces that be in AEW are bullying him by putting him in a match with AR Fox tonight.
Ricochet vs. AR Fox
Commentary talks about their matches before coming to AEW, even though they just wrestled on Collision this past October. AR Fox starts the match by sending Ricochet to the outside where he meets him with a dive. Ricochet comes back with a hip toss sending Fox onto the apron, before teasing a dive to the outside just to taunt the crowd who rains him down with boos as we head to break.
We come back as they both collide off of running the ropes. Fox knocks Ricochet off the ropes and holds onto him hitting a cutter, before going to the top for a 450 Splash, but Ricochet kicks out at two. Ricochet takes control and hits a Spirit Gun followed by the Vertigo to get the pin and the win.
Winner: Ricochet by pinfall at 11:06
As soon as the match is over, Ricochet grabs his golden scissors to do more damage to Fox, but Swerve Strickland shows up, pulls Ricochet to the outside, and attacks him against the barricades. Swerve sends Ricochet back inside and goes for the Swerve Stomp, but Ricochet holds Fox as a shield and threatens to stab him with the scissors so Swerve stops, as Ricochet escapes.
The Living Definition
We see part of Renee’s ‘Close Up’ YouTube series with the Death Riders as she asks them why they are holding the world title hostage and putting it in the briefcase. Jon Moxley asks why anyone needs to see it as they don’t know anything about it and don’t understand it on any level or what a world championship means. Moxley says he is the living definition of the championship, and if you want to see it, it’s right here and take a look at him. Moxley says he’s trying to build a thousand Moxleys.
We get a new 30-second Shop AEW commercial with ‘Daddy Magic’ Matt Menard going wild about all the merchandise.
The Mandela Effect
We get a commercial for Chris Jericho’s new movie ‘Dark Match’ which premieres this Friday on Shudder and in theaters before we go to a New York Minute as Jericho talks about how Big Bill took out Powerhouse Hobbs. Bill says he put his words into action and he understands Jericho’s words in a way he’s never felt before and he feels stronger. Jericho says that makes him very proud of himself for being such a great mentor, but he says Bill has to work harder next time as he didn’t take out Hobbs permanently. Jericho says he and Bryan Keith will take on The Outrunners on Saturday, and says they claim to have been around for centuries but he’s never seen them outside of AEW as Keith calls it a Mandela Effect. Jericho tells Bill that he’s hoping he makes him proud for real this time.
Jay White vs. Wheeler Yuta
Wheeler Yuta tries to attack Jay White before the bell can ring, but as White tries the Blade Runner, Yuta escapes to the outside before the match actually starts, just for Yuta to escape again. White takes it to Yuta in the ring, before they take it to the outside where White chops away at Yuta. Yuta takes control and attacks White’s left again against the ring and steel steps. Yuta sends White back inside and continues to work on his leg. They send it to break but Max stays with the action for a while before eventually cutting to commercials. (Just when I thought I was about to get spoiled like they do on Netflix.)
When we return, we see White hitting a superplex but Yuta kicks out at two. Yuta takes over the match and starts mocking Bryan Danielson’s ‘I got ’til 5′. White dodges a Busaiku Knee attempt from Yuta and hits him with the Blade Runner to get the pin and the win.
Winner: Jay White by pinfall at 13:37
White hits Yuta with another Blade Runner after the match, but as the crowd cheers for a third one, Jon Moxley distracts him on the apron before Claudio Castagnoli attacks White from behind. The Death Riders continue to attack White until Cope & FTR come out for the save to chase them away. Dax Harwood gets on the mic and says it’s an even fight now as he knows how they operate. What he hates is when they try to end a 67-year-old man in his idol, Ricky Morton. Harwood talks about Dennis Condrey being here and challenges the Death Riders to match on Collision in a Mid-South Street Fight.
Toni Storm Is Not Real
The show highlights from the reveal of ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm on this past episode of Collision. Renee is out on the stage and brings out the AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May. May says it’s great to be in Huntsville, but by looking around maybe they should change the first letter to a C. May talks about none of this being real and says that Toni Storm is not real. May asks if she wants to play the role of Toni Storm, then she can play the role of Storm whose most memorable moment was bleeding and crying in her hands, and the one who walked out of Wembley Stadium, Japan & Mexico because she couldn’t touch her. She can play whatever Toni Storm she wants because the ending stays the same. She doesn’t need to role play, because when you’re this good you don’t change a thing and she is the woman from hell, and she always will be and she will remind her for the rest of her life. Look now and never forget, for this is your AEW Women’s World Champion.
Gunns Up
We see a video for The Gunns as we go through some of their highlights and show them training for a return.
We get a video from The Hurt Syndicate who give it up to Private Party for being warriors, but says the tag titles are staying with them as long as they want to and they are putting everybody on notice, and they will accept any challenge at any place.
We go to The Vendetta; Deonna Purrazzo & Taya Valkyrie as they say they are going to watch the main event. Deonna says it should have been her in that match challenging for the title if it wasn’t for Harley Cameron and ‘getting her balloons in the way’. They say this world wasn’t built for women like them, so it’s time they need to take what they deserve and say that Cameron belongs to them and they are coming to collect this Saturday on Collision.
AEW TBS Championship: Mercedes Mone’ (c) vs. Yuka Sakazaki
This is Mercedes Mone’s first match since Wrestle Dynasty. They start the match knocking each other down and taunting each other with dances. Mercedes sends Yuka Sakazaki to the outside and tries a dropkick, but gets blocked by Yuka who comes back with a kick herself before she goes to the top rope, but Mercedes steps back to avoid the dive. Mercedes comes back with a Meteora off the apron as we head to break.
When we return, the crowd is split between the two competitors as Yuka counters a powerbomb attempt with a hurricanrana. Yuka has a bit of trouble before hitting a springboard dropkick on Mercedes followed by a sliding lariat for two. Mercedes comes back with the Three Amigos. Mercedes heads to the top rope, but Yuka meets her there and hits a superplex. Yuka counters the Mone’ Maker and hits a thrust kick and a Merry-Go-Round faceplant for two. They go back and forth for a bit with Yuka hitting Mercedes with a vicious German Suplex back inside the ring but as she tries the Magical Girl Splash, Mercedes puts her knees up. Mercedes hits a powerbomb followed by the Mone’ Maker to get the pin and the win.
Winner: Mercedes Mone’ by pinfall at 13:40, to retain
