The Best Wrestler Alive

The show starts with competitors for tonight’s matches in the back getting ready, but we don’t hear them speak. We go right to the ring where Max Caster is in the ring who shows his signed & notarized trademark proving that he’s the ‘Best Wrestler Alive’. He says since he ran his partners Anthony Bowens & Billy Gunn out of this company, he tells whoever wants to come out to accept his open challenge as ‘Hangman’ Adam Page’s music hits.

Max Caster vs. Adam Page

As Adam Page enters the ring, Max Caster escapes into the crowd as the crowd points out to Page exactly where he is. Caster is trying to hide in the crowd by taking a seat and holding a sign, but Page runs in and chases him into the ring as the bell rings. Caster takes the early advantage and tells the crowd he’s the Best Wrestler Alive, but Page gets right back up and takes him down with a lariat, a couple more into the corners, a sliding lariat and ends it with the Buckshot Lariat to pick up the pin.

Winner: Adam Page by pinfall at 1:16

We see footage from last week between Ricochet & Swerve Strickland with comments from Ricochet who says he’s moving on to bigger and better things and that he has to stay warm in this cold world as he puts on Jimmy Rave’s robe.

AEW World Trios Championship: Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, PAC & Wheeler Yuta) (c) vs. The Undisputed Kingdom (Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong)

This is the Death Riders’ first Trios title defense since November on an episode of Collision against The Conglomeration. Both teams start fighting on the outside and inside as the bell rings and we go right to commercial. No sign of Marina Shafir, how could she go against her husband?

When we return, the Death Riders are in control, keeping Kyle O’Reilly in their corner and taking turns on him. O’Reilly tries to fight back on PAC with kicks and the Kitchen Sink before he’s able to tag out to Roderick Strong. Strong takes out all the members of the Death Riders before getting a two-count on PAC. The Undisputed Kingdom then starts triple-teaming on PAC but Claudio Castagnoli runs in to break up the count. The Death Riders stay in control, triple-teaming Strong in the corner as we head to another break.

When we return, Strong fights off Wheeler Yuta to make the hot tag to Adam Cole. Cole hits a neckbreaker on Yuta but only gets a two before setting up for a super kick that Claudio breaks up before he gets sent to the outside. Cole catches PAC off the top rope with a super kick, before tagging in Strong as they start teaming up on PAC before Claudio breaks it up again. Claudio helps Yuta hit the Fastball Special, but O’Reilly gets his knees up and gets a very close two-count. All six men go at it next before Claudio brings a chair into the ring, but as Rick Knox takes it away, Yuta hits O’Reilly with a low blow and rolls him up to get the pin.

Winners: Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, PAC & Wheeler Yuta) by pinfall at 17:16, to retain

The Death Riders keep attacking them after the match until Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard & Angelo Parker run in to chase them away.

We see Jon Moxley & Marina Shafir walking in the back before Cope shows up and takes out Moxley with a chair, takes the briefcase from Shafir, and with the help of Jay White, locks her in a room and runs off. Moxley frees Shafir as they go to look for Cope & White.

“See You Later, Seabiscuit”

Renee Paquette is in the back with MJF and asks him about the home-court advantage that Dustin Rhodes has in tonight’s match. MJF says Texas isn’t a real state and Rhodes isn’t a real man, and no amount of paint will hide Rhodes’ shame. Adam Page walks in and kicks MJF out and says it’s his interview. MJF asks if Page has a crush on him as it’s been 4 weeks in a row of him interrupting him and says he didn’t know Jack Daniels made cologne. MJF says whatever this is, isn’t Page as he doesn’t have the stomach for it. He says Page lost his friends because he wants an apology and calls him a joke. If anybody deserves an apology it’s MJF for the lack of respect from everyone, but tonight he will beat Rhodes and move on to do something that Page has yet to do, become a 2-time AEW World Champion and ends with ‘See you later, Seabiscuit’.

Samoa Joe, Hook & Katsuyori Shibata vs. Jon Cruz, Aaron Solo & Rosario Grillo

As soon as the bell rings, Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata & Hook start attacking their three opponents in and out of the ring until Hook & Aaron Solo are the only two legal men in the ring. Shibata starts chopping away at Rosario Grillo next before Joe joins in and comically trips up Grillo. Jon Cruz bravely tries to attack Joe from behind as Excalibur calls Cruz a ‘long time rival’ of Joe. Joe places Cruz on the top rope and hits him with the Muscle Buster to pick up the win.

Winners: Samoa Joe, Hook & Katsuyori Shibata by pinfall (1:42)

The Opps

Joe gets on the mic and calls Shibata & Hook his brothers and says the world has asked him what this is about. Joe says they go everywhere and always have a misunderstanding the only answer is violence. He says they always have a problem and beat your ass to solve it and calls themselves The Opps and says they will hunt you down and catch them lacking. Joe moves his attention to Christian Cage & The Patriarchy and says that he continues to hide from The Opps. Since Christian is too much of a coward to show up tonight and challenges The Patriarchy for next Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite.

Collecting The Bounty

Renee is in the back with Chris Jericho & Bryan Keith as she brings up how Keith failed to collect the bounty by taking out Bandido. Jericho says he would have paid triple to get rid of Bandido, but says it’s ok that he didn’t as they don’t yell at each other, but learn from each other and tells him to learn as he will collect the bounty and tells Bandido to meet him in the ring now as he challenges him to a showdown.

Dead Man Walking

After the break, Renee is with Willow Nightingale who talks about being excited to return to Japan next month, but Marina Shafir enters and takes her out. Jon Moxley calls out Cope and says he’s fighting fire with fire, calls him pathetic and a dead man walking.

Showdown at Cedar Park

Chris Jericho heads to the ring by himself for his proposed showdown with Bandido. They face off as the lights turn blue and they are in the middle of a spotlight. They turn their backs to each other and pace off in opposite directions as we hear a bell indicating them to turn back around. As Bandido prepares to go after Jericho, Bryan Keith shows up and holds him as they start attacking Bandido. The Outrunners run out to help Bandido and take Keith & Jericho to the outside. Big Bill shows up holding the bounty flyer as he enters and goes to hit a chokeslam on Bandido, but stops in his tracks as Powerhouse Hobbs’ music hits and he enters the ring to start brawling with Bill before Hobbs takes him out with a spinebuster.

The Case of The Familiar Briefcase

We go to Cope & Jay White as they ask Jon Moxley if he’s missing anything before they hold up the briefcase. They start building up the match at Grand Slam Australia before Cope says he’s held things like this before. Cope says if Moxley wants it back all he has to do is meet him in the ring at the end of the night.

The Last Of His Kind… Bitch

After the break, Renee is in the back with Dustin Rhodes and asks for any final words before he goes out for his match with MJF. Rhodes says the devil is here and MJF is about to find out why he’s the last of his kind, bitch.

MJF vs. Dustin Rhodes

Dustin Rhodes takes it to MJF right away in and out of the ring, before MJF asks him to back off only for it to be a ploy and takes control. MJF starts using cheap tactics in the corner as Bryce Remsburg tries to get him to back off. Rhodes hits the 10 punches in the corner followed by a bulldog as this Texas crowd is loudly behind him. MJF tries to hit the Cross Rhodes, but Rhodes reverses it and hits it himself for a two. They start trading pin attempts before MJF hits a piledriver for two. MJF brings a chair into the ring and wraps it around Rhodes’s arm, but Remsburg takes his sweet time taking it away giving Rhodes the opportunity to hit the Golden Globes followed by The Final Reckoning, but MJF kicks out. MJF comes back with a Final Reckoning of his own for two, before quickly putting on the Salt of the Earth, before transitioning it into the Crossface as Remsburg calls the match off.

Winner: MJF by referee stoppage (11:13)

MJF keeps attacking Rhodes after and puts on the Salt of the Earth again before Adam Page heads to the ring and gets in MJF’s face. MJF pretends to back away before he goes after Page. They both go at it before more than a dozen security guards and officials run out to attempt to break them apart. They break apart and take their fight up and into the crowd. During all this, MJF takes a guy’s drink and tosses it on him, heads back to the ring, and grabs a mic calling Page a loser who won’t come back here and fight. Page had been ejected, but he ended up running back into the ring and started brawling again as the guards ran back in and finally broke this brawl up.

Megan Bayne vs. Maya World

Maya World got a good reaction here from this Texas crowd, as Tony Schiavone brings up this being Megan Bayne’s first singles match on Dynamite. Bayne takes World down right away, before catching her right into a belly-to-belly suplex. Bayne follows with another suplex, before dragging World into the corner where she delivers shoulder blocks and chops followed by a flying clothesline. Bayne ends it with her F5 to get the pin and the win.

Winner: Megan Bayne by pinfall at 1:54

As Bayne is leaving she has a staredown with Kris Statlander who heads to the ring for the next match.

Kris Statlander vs. Penelope Ford

They take it to the mat right away, before Kris Statlander breaks out of a headscissors from Penelope Ford. Ford breaks out of a hold by licking Statlander’s face, but Statlander comes back with attacks on Ford in the corner. Ford tries to lick her again, but Statlander blocks that by putting her fingers in her mouth. Statlander stays in control as we head to break.

We return as they are both going at it with a superplex happening during the break being reshown. Ford hits a poison rana, before trying the cartwheel into the corner but Statlander dodges it and hits a lariat followed by the Night Fever to get the pin and the win.

Winner: Kris Statlander by pinfall (9:18)

As soon as the match ends, Megan Bayne heads back to the ring and attacks Statlander from behind before hitting her with the F5 on the outside.

C-E-No

We see a video mocking Mercedes Mone’ and her CEO song but it’s just the Mercedes puppet, as Harley Cameron starts doing a rap song dissing Mercedes before cutting herself off and going into a serious promo mode. Mercedes said not too long ago there was a time when she couldn’t wrestle, sing, and much more including speaking Chinese as she then proceeded to. She thanks Mone’ for ignoring her as it pushed her to work harder and be different and thanks to her she’s going to win the TBS Championship in her home country. She doesn’t want to ride the Mone’ Train, she wants to drive it.

AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin) (w/ MVP) (c) vs. The Gunns (Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn)

This is The Gunns’ first match since September, and their first match on Dynamite since January 2024. We overhear MVP who says that he would have joined commentary, but they didn’t make the proper accommodations for him as Bobby Lashley & Colten Gunn start the match. The crowd is fully behind The Hurt Syndicate chanting ‘We hurt people’. Shelton Benjamin ends up tossing Austin Gunn into the crowd. Benjamin continues the attack on Austin as we head to break.

Austin is able to fight off Benjamin and tries to tag out to Colten, but Lashley is there to pull Colten off the apron. Austin is able to fight off both opponents and make the hot tag to Colten who sends Lashley to the outside with a dropkick. The Gunns stay in control, with Austin hitting a Fameasser on Benjamin, but only gets a two-count. Lashley breaks up the 3:10 to Yuma attempt as Benjamin knocks out Austin with a superkick, followed by two release German Suplexes before hitting Colten with one. Lashley takes out Colten with a spine buster before hitting Austin with a spear as Benjamin covers him for the pin.

Winners: The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin) via pinfall at 11:08, to retain

The Murder Machines (Brian Cage & Lance Archer) come out and have a staredown with The Hurt Syndicate.

Mariah Did It Better

We go to Mariah May in the back who says that Toni Storm should have died in August, but she could never write an ending. Beating Storm in Australia isn’t the worst thing she could do, she could lose and disappear and then the fans realize that Mariah did it better. May says that Storm is nothing without her and she wouldn’t exist without her, as Toni Storm isn’t real. She guesses that she does love Storm because this is going to be a mercy killing.

Cope Open… The Briefcase

Jay White & Cope (with the briefcase) head to the ring. Cope says the AEW World Championship has been hidden in this briefcase for months and too long as the crowd chants for him to open it up. Cope says he has an idea and grabs ‘Spike’ from under the ring. Cope says that Spike is pretty hungry and wants to dig her teeth into that briefcase, before revealing the giant spiked weapon. Cope says that if Jon Moxley doesn’t come out here and accept his challenge for AEW Revolution, he’s going to smash the briefcase open and take the title. Moxley & Marina Shafir show up as Moxley says Cope and these people don’t know jack about the title. He says he’s left pieces of his will for the AEW World Championship and he is its protector and shepherd and he is too much of a nice guy and he will show how much he cares. He says he is going to break Adam Copeland’s neck at Revolution and agrees to the match. Cope says he’s going to show how much he cares about the championship and starts attacking the briefcase with Spike anyway. Wheeler Yuta heads into the ring as White takes him out with a Blade Runner. Claudio Castagnoli & PAC enter, but as Cope holds PAC back, Marina steals the briefcase back as Moxley & PAC start attacking Cope. White enters and takes out Claudio with a Blade Runner, but as Moxley goes to hit White with Spike, Cope takes out Moxley with a spear. White gets on the mic and says they will put the Death Riders into the ground at Grand Slam Australia
