J.D.C. challenged for the Heritage Cup on the latest edition of the show.
With the partnership between WWE and TNA in place, talents from both companies are appearing on each other’s weekly shows consistently.
The last two episodes of NXT on The CW have featured J.D.C. (Fandango). He appeared on the 2/4 program to set up the Heritage Cup match he had with Lexis King on 2/11.
J.D.C. guest appeared on Busted Open and reflected on his return to the company. He initially showed up with his Fandango theme song, but introduced himself as J.D.C. of TNA. He feels it would have been weird to not acknowledge the history he has in WWE.
He went on to add that returning to the Performance Center made him emotional and nervous. He also spoke highly of Lexis King and said he thinks King is going to be a huge star.
Yeah, it’s a weird hodgepodge because obviously, I do have equity in WWE. I was there 15 years. I played that (Fandango) character for five, seven years. So I think if we completely forget about that and didn’t really touch on that, it would be kind of weird in a way. No pun intended. So I think it was a weird hodgepodge between the character that I used to play and segueing into my new character now, J.D.C., and to your question, it was very emotional for me. I was nervous because I didn’t know how they would react; the fans. You know, nervous going into the Performance where I worked there for years and you haven’t seen some of these guys and girls for four or five years. It was a little nerve-racking but emotional because the reaction was really great and the promo segment was really awesome and I got a lot of respect for Lexis King. I think he’s gonna be a huge star in the business. So all in all, it was just a really emotional and fantastic day for me.
J.D.C. is a member of The System faction (Moose, Brian Myers, Eddie Edwards & Alisha Edwards) in TNA. He was in action on the 2/6 TNA iMPACT in a six-man tag versus Leon Slater and The Hardys (Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy).
