5:40 p.m. ET: The story has been updated with further information regarding Cicione’s future in Anthem and new TNA appointees.

A series of notable backstage names have recently exited their roles within TNA Wrestling, per reports.

The biggest reported change sees Anthony Cicione leave his role as TNA President, which he took just over a year ago to replace Scott D’Amore. News of Cicione’s exit from the role was reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider on Wednesday.

Cicione was appointed as President in February, being moved into the position after previously spending more than sixteen years in other positions within TNA’s parent company, Anthem. He will remain within Anthem following the recent moves, although no longer serving as TNA’s President.

PWInsider and Fightful Select have both reported names who have been brought into TNA as part of the recent changes.

George Veras has been appointed Executive Producer of Anthem Sports Group Leadership, per reports. Veras, who has worked as a producer in ABC, NBC, and CBS, is expected to bring in his own production team to work with the promotion.

Mark Brown, who has worked with ROH and NJPW in the past, has been tapped for a Director role in TNA. Fightful also noted that Andrea Pagnanelli has been hired for a Senior Vice President marketing role.

Long-time TNA figures Josh Mathews and Christy Hemme are also gone from the promotion, per reports from both PWInsider and Fightful Select.

Mathews, a former WWE commentator, had spent the past decade working various roles within TNA. While no longer serving as a regular commentator in recent years, he remained active behind the scenes as a producer.

Hemme, a past wrestler who had a three-year TNA stint from 2007 to 2009, had reportedly worked on the company’s social media in recent years.
