Chris Bey shows himself walking.
Chris Bey is celebrating his 29th birthday and he took to X to provide an update on his status after he underwent emergency surgery for a neck injury he suffered in October.
Bey was in action at the post-Bound For Glory television taping and had to be stretchered off. TNA set up a GoFundMe for him afterwards and put together auctions that Bey would receive the proceeds from.
In the video he posted, he showed himself walking. He described the injury he suffered as life-altering. He noted that he tried to get on his feet, but realized he could not move. Bey was paralyzed in the middle of the ring. He underwent surgery to fuse his C5 and C6 and a spinal cord fusion for the C6 and T1. He added that if it were not for TNA’s staff acting fast, he may not be alive.
He expressed gratitude for all the support he’s received. He was told it would not be likely he’d walk again. Bey was not able to respond to anything because he had no usage of his hands.
After being at a rehab center, he was able to go home on December 28th. He added that there’s many more details and he’ll share those soon.
He’s been out of his wheelchair for three weeks. Bey noted that his body is still in pain, but he’s not going to give up.
