Kross was part of the six-man tag with Velasquez.

In 2019, former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez made his pro wrestling in-ring debut at AAA’s Triplemanía XXVII. He teamed with Cody Rhodes and Psycho Clown to take on El Texano Jr., Beast Mortos and Karrion Kross.

That match was reflected on by Kross while guest appearing on Geeking Out with Matt Serra. He talked about sharing the ring with Velasquez and praised his performance.

I wrestled Cain (Velasquez). I was in Cain’s first match in AAA Mexico. He was doing things, like performance-wise, that were so advanced. I mean, to do a springboard where you run and jump on the second rope — like the literal rope. Not the turnbuckle. The rope, and then fly off and do a corkscrew, spin through the air and grab the guy by his arm and flip him. He was able to do things that you shouldn’t normally be able to do. But Cain was always training. Yes (he’s an athletic freak).

Several months after the match, Velasquez debuted in WWE on the first edition of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX and went after then-newly crowned WWE Champion Brock Lesnar.

The two had a match at the proceeding Crown Jewel event. He signed a three-year deal with WWE, but was released in April 2020.
