The Rock wants Cody Rhodes’ soul & for Rhodes to be ‘his champion,’ will get Cody’s response at WWE Elimination Chamber

Johnson with a proposal for Rhodes.

After Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson announced WrestleMania 42 in 2026 will be taking place April 11th and 12th from the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, he invited Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes to the ring.

Johnson talked about how him and Rhodes have become great friends and he repeatedly called Rhodes a great champion. Johnson brought up that he’s on TKO’s Board of Directors and name-dropped Endeavor and TKO CEO Ari Emanuel.

He recalled a conversation with Emanuel and said to him that he owns WWE. Emanuel responded by saying The Rock is the one who owns WWE. The Rock said he does not know if that’s the case, but he knows he’s the most powerful. Johnson then expressed to Rhodes that he wants him to be ‘his champion.’

Rhodes responded and said he’s the fans’ champion, but Rock added that he can open up doors for Rhodes that he never knew existed and those doors being open can benefit Rhodes’ family. Rock said he’s always wanted a brother and Rhodes can be that.

Johnson stated that his original goal was to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL and he dove into the original plans such as speaking with Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque and Nick Khan about how Rhodes needed to move out of the picture.

He said Cody did not budge and that’s why he’s special and wants Rhodes to be ‘his champion.’ He wants Rhodes to think about what he said and added that he’ll be at the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event on March 1st to get Rhodes’ answer. The Rock said he does not want Rhodes’ title, but he wants his soul.
