Shafir said she was not going to share the exact details of what happened.

After Ronda Rousey finished up with WWE in 2023, she got back into the mix of pro wrestling that fall and had three matches over the course of a month.

She competed at Lucha VaVoom, The Wrestling REVOLVER and at Ring of Honor. All of her matches were tag bouts with Marina Shafir.

Looking back at the match for The Wrestling REVOLVER, Shafir said on Talk Is Jericho that it almost did not happen because of ‘political’ reasons.

I got them (Ronda Rousey & Sami Callihan) connected and they figured out that they’re gonna do a charity show. Charity show happens. It was very chaotic. There was just some political things going on. I’m not going to talk about it but, it was almost not going to happen, and we pulled some strings, made it happen. But then the very next day was when we ended up wrestling Athena and Billie (Starkz) on Ring of Honor.

Shafir is a member of The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli & PAC) in AEW. She dove into how she got affiliated with Moxley and ultimately ended up being a part of the Death Riders and to read her recount, click here.
