HENARE’s current injury is reportedly severe and could keep him out of action for quite some time.
The former NEVER Openweight Champion could possibly miss the rest of the year due to a knee injury, per a recent report from Figthful Select.
HENARE was pulled from NJPW’s 2024 World Tag League tour in December due to a knee injury. He has been out of action since then, missing the promotion’s major Wrestle Kingdom show and not being expected for any upcoming dates.
The New Zealander was a highly active name for NJPW over the past few years, making a name for himself as part of the United Empire faction. Last year saw him put together two different major title reigns in the promotion.
HENARE held the NEVER Openweight Championship over the summer, dethroning Shingo Takagi and defending the belt once against Hiromu Takahashi before dropping the belt to Takagi.
Alongside Great-O-Khan he also defeated TMDK’s Mikey Nicholls and Shane Haste in November to capture the IWGP Tag Team Championships. The belts were vacated by the duo following HENARE’s injury.
