Mercedes Moné has joined NJPW’s next trip to California.
The current TBS Champion and NJPW STRONG Women’s Women’s Champion will appear at the promotion’s May 9 Resurgence card, which is expected to take place at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California.
It isn’t known who the CEO will face when she makes her second appearance on an NJPW card this year. However, it wouldn’t be surprising if she puts her STRONG title on the line against whoever they choose as her opponent.
Moné’s last NJPW match was at the January 5 Tokyo Dome card in collaboration with AEW and CMLL. On that show she added another belt to her collection, defeating Mina Shirakawa for the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship.
Hosting Resurgence in California has become an annual tradition for NJPW in recent years. The promotion brought the show to the 11,000-capacity Toyota Arena for the first time last year, drawing a crowd of over 3,000.
