
Jeff Cobb further hints at the rumors about him and WWE.
After Jeff Cobb bested Tetsuya Naito in the New Japan Cup tournament, he addressed the speculation about his future. There was a report from Fightful Select which noted that WWE is interested in Cobb and one source informed the outlet that Cobb’s name is on their internal roster.
Cobb was bounced from the tournament on 3/15 when he lost to Shota Umino. In his backstage comments, he stated that he’ll finish the remainder of the tour, but he’s coming after the winner of the New Japan Cup.
He added that whoever wins, they’ll have to acknowledge him and rose his arm in the air with his index finger pointing up.
I’m gonna be a good boy and finish this tournament tour and whoever walks out the New Japan Cup champion, I will come knock, knock, knocking, and whoever it is I have to fight, you will acknowledge me.
The New Japan Cup semifinals are taking place on 3/16 and it’ll feature Zack Sabre Jr. versus David Finlay along with Shota Umino versus Shingo Takagi.
