Parker also dove into being part of the 2025 women’s Royal Rumble match.
Jaida Parker is several years into her pro wrestling career. She started with WWE in 2022 and present day, she is a member of the NXT roster.
In her matches, Parker often secures a win with her ‘Hipnotic’ finisher which is a hip attack. Criticisms of the move were addressed by Parker during her appearance on the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast with O’Shea Jackson Jr. & T.J. Jefferson.
She detailed why the move is in her arsenal and explained the meaning behind it. Parker added that she might upgrade it, but she’s not changing it.
Not to be disrespectful but, if I were to use another one, then I wouldn’t be Jaida Parker. Because that Hipnotic is Jaida Parker. So, I understand people don’t like it, they don’t understand it. Well, you’re not me. You’re not gonna understand and you’re not gonna like it but I promise you, if I sit your ass down right here and I run at you like I run at them, you not gonna get up. So they could talk all they want to. ‘Oh, it’s not this, it’s not that.’ I pay attention to it. Do I have to listen to it? No, because it’s just fuel to the fire. But my Hipnotic, it comes from soccer because if you really wanna get hip-checked in soccer, I will make you fly about 30 yards, if we’re being honest, having that type of momentum. But if people don’t understand it or don’t want to accept it, that’s not my problem. That sounds like a personal problem.
So it’s okay, and no, I’m not gonna change my finisher. I’m not. I might upgrade it, but I’m not changing it. I can only go up from here and there’s so many people, ‘Oh, you need to get this, you need to get that.’ Well, I think you need to mind your damn business. Unless you wanna get hit with that by yourself but, to each their own… I don’t think it’s mean (she laughed)… What works for me. If it don’t work for you, that is not my problem.
In February, Parker participated in her first Royal Rumble match. She entered at the #16 spot and was in the match for seven minutes before being eliminated by Jordynne Grace.
Looking back at when she was first informed that she’d be in the match, Parker said she held back tears. She talked about the moment she had with Bianca Belair, Naomi, Lash Legend and Chelsea Green. Parker stated that Belair and Naomi are the Black women she looks up to in the wrestling industry.
Okay, so, to answer your first part, they reached out to me. They let me know and I was informed of being in the (Royal) Rumble and I tried to hold back all the tears that I had built-up because it has not been an easy journey at all. There’s days when you question everything and you question yourself and for me to get that reassurance, I told my momma, I was like, ‘You can’t tell me God ain’t real.’ Hey, you can’t. Because there’s no way I can go through all these trials and tribulations and then still end up on top. That ain’t nothing but God. So, I cried, I called my momma and I was just like, ‘We gon’ do this and this my chance to show the world, the WWE universe, in front of those fans, in front of millions of people tuning in, who the hell Jaida Parker is’ and that’s exactly what I did. Now, to answer your second part, that moment (in the match with Bianca Belair, Naomi, Lash Legend & Chelsea Green), it was insane. It was insane because I went in there, did my lil stuff, hit my Teardrop, had that moment with Lash and then I turned and I’m like, oh, that’s Bianca, and I look, I was like, oh, that’s Naomi. I was like, ‘Oh! Okay, okay’ and I was just embracing that moment because a lot of people can’t say that they’ve ever had that moment with them and I always on — especially other podcasts that I’ve done and interviews that I’ve done, I’m always praising them because they were the Black women that I look up to. I can’t speak for everybody else but, seeing them come up in this industry and how long they’ve been in this industry and everything, it’s not only inspirational but it’s like, okay, I’m trying to make my idols become my rivals and that’s what I’m trying to do because iron can only sharpen other iron at the end of the day and that moment before Chelsea started to poof herself (Parker laughed)… And I give her credit because she was very confident. She was very confident but baby, read the room, you feel me? You feel me? When I watched it back and I saw her do this, I said, ‘Oh hell nah.’ But, it was an amazing moment. I just can’t wait to get back in the ring with all of them, especially Chelsea.
Parker was a part of the NXT Roadblock special and she had a backstage segment with Mickie James. A review of that show can be found here on POST Wrestling via the Poisonrana Podcast.
