Steven Spielberg spoke to Guerrero Jr. about his wrestling fandom.

Coming off the heels of TNA Sacrifice, the promotion is going to be rolling out matches and segments from their post-Sacrifice television taping in El Paso, Texas.

Among those present for the taping was El Paso’s own Chavo Guerrero Jr. Before the 3/20 edition of TNA iMPACT airs, Guerrero Jr. joined Busted Open

As the conversation went on, he spoke about the work he’s doing in film and becoming the go to person for wrestling-related movies in Hollywood. Guerrero Jr. then revealed that he just finished working with renowned filmmaker Steven Spielberg on a movie that is not out yet. He added that Spielberg is a fan of wrestling.

I just finished working with Steven Spielberg. Just finished… the movie is still not out yet, and he was a wrestling fan. We were exchanging André the Giant stories and when he used to watch wrestling down at the (Grand) Olympic Auditorium and you know, John Tolos, The Golden Greek used to be one of his favorites and we’re talking about all of this stuff and these are people that I grew up with, that I’ve known since I was a kid and to have that rapport with Spielberg… He was a fan because he got it. He understood the entertainment value of pro wrestling.

Guerrero Jr. is going to be a part of the First Cla$$ Penthouse segment on TNA iMPACT with A.J. Francis and K.C. Navarro. That’ll lead to him being part of a six-man tag with Laredo Kid and Octagon Jr. He spoke about his appearance and stepping back into the ring for the promotion.

Very cool to actually kind of step foot back in the ring and especially, my hometown of El Paso, Texas. That was really, really cool and to see all my old pals. You know, Santino (Marella), Nic Nemeth, his brother Ryan (Nemeth). So many guys that I just — Tommy Dreamer, Gail Kim. It was very, very cool to see my old pals.

He’s (A.J. Francis) a really great talker. It was really cool to get him and K.C. Navarro together. I’ve known them, but just not really ever worked with them… Their interview segment… The First Cla$$ Penthouse, and you know, I love getting in the ring with these young guys and you learn from them and teach them and just, you know, everything that pro wrestling is which is improv and we got out there and just kind of improv’d that whole segment up there, you know?

Guerrero Jr. is still active on the independent scene. Prior to the TNA appearance, he last wrestled in February for the AIW promotion.
