Randy & Kevin, Las Vegas Bound

Smackdown from Bologna, Italy, kicked off with Joe Tessitore noting that it had been eighteen years since WWE TV had emanated from Italy. Randy Orton was the first performer to appear at a huge pop as the Italian crowd sang loudly along with his theme. Footage from last week showed Kevin Owens saving Carmelo Hayes from a punt and scurrying away before Orton could retaliate. Orton grabbed the microphone, but before he could utter a single word, Kevin Owens came out to the stage. Owens said that he was wrong for attacking him and that he didn’t deserve it. He asked forgiveness for what he did as he forgave Orton for taking Cody’s side and said he saved Hayes last week because no one wanted to see Randy return to his old self. Owens then proposed he and Orton go for the tag titles at Wrestlemania.

Orton responded by rejecting Owens’ apology. He was glad he gave him the package piledriver because now there are voices in his head, and they counsel him. He finished up by saying he would kick Owens’ head clean off his shoulders in Las Vegas at Wrestlemania.

Damian Priest & Jimmy Uso vs. Drew McIntyre & Shinsuke Nakamura

The first match of the evening saw Damian Priest & Jimmy Uso taking on Drew McIntyre & Shinsuke Nakamura. Much like last week, it was somewhat of a house show multi-man match to kick things off that the crowd could get excited for. Before the bell rang, McIntyre & Priest started brawling in the entranceway. Then, out of nowhere, Jimmy Uso dove from the ring onto the heels, and it became clear that Jimmy did not get a televised entrance.

Despite the good start for Uso and Priest, McIntyre and Nakamura controlled the early portion of this match until Priest got the hot tag and leveled both his opponents. Jimmy Uso then hit a sloppy-looking kick to McIntyre to the outside, followed by what the announce team described as a Kinshasha to the back of Jimmy’s head. This led to Priest hitting the South of Heaven on Nakamura for the pinfall victory. After the match, McIntyre jumped Priest and hit him with the Claymore, leaving him lying.

Who Will Be the #1 Contender?

Backstage, LA Knight approached Braun Strowman, saying that he would be watching his match against Jacon Fatu. Strowman revealed that he had spoken to Nick Aldis and the winner of his match with Fatu would get a shot at Knight’s United States Championship.

Stratton & Flair Sit-Down

Next, Joe Tessitore interviewed Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair via a backstage split screen. Immediately, the two competitors talked over each other, and Flair said that Wrestlemania 41 would be the pinnacle of Stratton’s career, but Flair would merely be shining a spotlight on someone undeserving. This was clearly done live and came off a bit awkward, but Stratton still held her own with Flair.

#1 Contender’s Match: Jacob Fatu vs. Braun Strowman

The next match of the night was the United States #1 Contender’s Match between Jacob Fatu and Braun Strowman. Strowman dominated early until going for the Strowman Express when Fatu side-stepped, throwing Braun into the announce desk. After the commercial break, Fatu recovered and started taking it to Strowman until Strowman regained control and successfully hit the Strowman Express, sending Fatu over the announce desk. Out of nowhere, Tama Tonga and Solo Sikoa interfered, causing the disqualification. Fatu seemed upset but then joined in on the beatdown of Strowman. This brought out LA Knight, and the two faces fought off the heel team. The announcers confirmed that the US Championship match between Knight and Strowman would take place next week from London.

Later backstage, Jacob Fatu was having a meltdown backstage with Solo Sikoa, saying they were just trying to help. Fatu told him he better watch it and stormed off.

Liv & Raquel

Cathy Kelley interviewed Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez backstage, asking why they still had an issue with Jade Cargill, and Morgan said that Jade allowed everyone to believe that they were the attackers. Morgan also brought up how they beat Naomi and Belair to become tag team champions. Morgan said she would finish the job Naomi attempted to do tonight.

Piper Niven vs. Zelina Vega

Next up was Piper Niven, accompanied by Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre, taking on Zelina Vega. Joe Tessitore noted that the “Secret Hervice” was now the “Green Regime” with the addition of Alba Fyre. Zelina Vega had a new theme song that certainly did nothing for the crowd, as her entrance was about the quietest moment of the night to this point. As the match began, Tessitore also mentioned the Winter Olympics in 2026. This was certainly a cool-down match for this crowd as they chanted “We want Chelsea” at Piper Niven. Chelsea Green attempted to slap Vega behind the referee’s back and missed, having to give it a second go.

Zelina Vega was able to reverse a gorilla press into a sleeper hold followed by a modified Octopus hold into a backslide for a two count. Vega followed that up with a Meteoras to the back and front of Niven for another near fall. Vegas hit a Satellite DDT and a 619 while fighting off both Green and Fyre but was leveled by a running crossbody from Niven for the win.

Is Jade Ready?

Cathy Kelley caught up with Jade Cargill backstage and asked her if she was ready for Liv Morgan tonight. Cargill said that she would take care of Morgan, and it would be a little preview of what she would do to Naomi.

4…. 25?

Another teaser was shown, similar to last week. This time, a number 3 seemed to appear behind the four shown last week. April 3rd is a Thursday, so it seems unlikely that Aleister Black will return then. Perhaps it is the beginning of a twenty-five, which would mark the first Smackdown after Wrestlemania.

Jade Cargill vs. Liv Morgan

Next was Jade Cargill’s first match in three months as she took on Liv Morgan with Raquel Rodriguez in her corner. Before the match began, cameras caught the “Mona Liva” in the crowd with Liv Morgan painted as the Mona Lisa.

Early in the match, Rodriguez distracted Cargill, allowing Liv Morgan to gain an advantage. After a commercial break, Naomi appeared on the ring apron, distracting Cargill. Morgan went for the Oblivion, but Jade countered. Raquel Rodriguez then distracted the referee again, allowing Naomi to hit Cargill with the Championship. Morgan then successfully hit the Oblivion, scoring the victory. After the match, Naomi (in what looked like Owen Hart’s caution-tape era-inspired gear) beat Cargill down. Naomi ended the beating by shoving Jade off the ring apron into the announce table as the announcers drew comparisons to what Naomi did to Jade to take her out three months ago.

Is Drew Wrong?

Drew McIntyre was leaving the building when Cathy Kelley caught up with him, and he asked someone to explain to him how he was wrong about being screwed by Priest consistently over the last few months. Drew said he would see Priest in London next week. McIntyre went to leave but ran into Seth Rollins, who simply smiled at him.

Tag Team Turmoil Continues

The new Tag Team Champions, The Street Profits, were introduced. They also debuted a new theme song tonight, to little reaction from the Italian crowd, but that might have been partially disappointment at not hearing their classic theme. The crowd did, however, chant “You deserve it” after their new theme subsided. The Profits said that doubt had crept in over the last four years, even doubting each other. (Side Note: Didn’t these guys turn heel? What happened there?) This brought out Legado del Fantasma, with Santos Escobar speaking Italian to the crowd at first. Escobar said Los Garza was ready to take the Profits’ titles. This, in turn, brought out Pretty Deadly, who reminded Escobar that they were, in fact, the #1 Contenders. Montez Ford recognized that Pretty Deadly already had their guaranteed shot, so why not take on Los Garza tonight? This led directly to a match between the two teams.

Yup, That’s Fenix

Returning from the commercial break, another teaser video was shown, this time more clearly showing Rey Fenix, but not indicating a debut date.

Street Profits vs. Los Garza

Santos Escobar helped Los Garza by pulling down the top rope, somewhat taking a different direction after Los Garza had some face-ish reactions over the last few weeks. Escobar got involved multiple times again during the commercial break, and any question of the Profits turning or even leaning heel was now firmly in the rearview. Finally, after a long period with Los Garza in control, the Profits took back over with the crowd firmly behind them. Montez Ford reversed out of the setup for the MTY in a very cool spot.

The Street Profits finished off Los Garza with Montez Ford hitting the From the Heavens Frog Splash. After the match, Pretty Deadly ran into DIY in the back, and Pretty Deadly revealed they will be facing the Profits for the titles next week from London. DIY proposed that they help Pretty Deadly win next week if they give them a match for the titles thereafter. Pretty Deadly declined, and Motor City Machine Guns appeared and welcomed DIY to the “back of the line.”

Under One Roof!

Roman Reigns, accompanied by Paul Heyman, was first out for the main event’s “Under One Roof” segment to a massive pop. His graphics still say “OTC,” but he was announced as (and his shirt says) “YTC.” Pick one, WWE.

Reigns jumped into things by explaining that CM Punk screwed him at the Rumble, so he screwed him last week at the Garden. He went on to explain that Seth Rollins tried to kill him at the Royal Rumble, so he tried to kill him at the Garden. This brought out Seth Rollins to another huge pop. Rollins said that Reigns should have let him finish CM Punk when he had the chance, but this was really all about him and Reigns, and it was about time they added another chapter to their story. This brought out CM Punk to yet another massive pop.

Punk brought up that neither of them had beaten him without the other one’s help. Punk brought up the favor from War Games and thanked Heyman for delivering Reigns on a silver platter tonight. Punk then nailed Reigns from behind, and all three brawled. WWE Officials tried to break the trio up, but the melee continued.

Roman Reigns then picked up the steel steps and nailed both Rollins and Punk with them. Reigns then pointed to the Wrestlemania sign, and the brawl continued as the show went off the air.

Final Thoughts

Another fantastic crowd, this time out of Italy, once again elevated this show to another level. In-ring-wise, it wasn’t on par with last week, especially since almost every match had interference or referee distractions.
