It’s official: The Natural Disasters will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.
The team of Earthquake and Typhoon (John Tenta Jr. and Fred Ottman) – who captured the WWF Tag Team Championships in 1992 and faced off against Money Inc. at Wrestlemania VIII – will be honored as part of the Class of 2025.
Ottman previously revealed in an interview with Sportskeeda that the duo was set for a Hall of Fame introduction this year.
“I couldn’t believe it,” Ottman told Bill Apter earlier this month. “I was like, wow, what an incredible thing, you know? I always say, there are so many guys that are so worthy to be in there that aren’t yet. For this to happen is amazing.”
The Natural Disasters appeared together from 1991 to 1993, combining a pair of talents with impressive larger-than-life size. Billed at a combined 852 pounds, they had an 85-day run as champs in the WWF. The duo parted ways after three years due to Earthquake leaving the promotion.
It will be a posthumous introduction for Tenta Jr., who tragically passed away at just 42 due to bladder cancer in 2006.
The tag team will be inducted alongside Triple H, Lex Luger, and Michelle McCool. The ceremony will air live at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 18, a couple of hours after Friday Night Smackdown wraps up.
