Spears and Saints reference their past.
As the 3/25 edition of WWE NXT on The CW was airing, there was an interview segment that saw commentator Vic Joseph chatting with Ricky Saints.
NXT North American Champion Shawn Spears showed up and took Joseph’s seat to talk to Saints. He asked Saints why he thinks he was not asked to join The Cullen (Shawn Spears, Izzi Dame, Niko Vance & Brooks Jensen). Spears brought up Saints’ ‘arrogance’ and said he’s still the same person that he left a year and a half ago.
Saints made it clear that he’s coming after the North American Title. Spears responded by saying Saints knows what the end result of that will be and if it does not work out, maybe Saints could ‘go back.’ Spears cut himself off and said Saints cannot do that because he burned every bridge.
It was made official that Saints is going to be challenging Spears for the title on the April 1st NXT on The CW.
Saints joined WWE shortly after his contract with All Elite Wrestling expired. He spoke candidly about his departure from the company and what led to him being off television for a full year.
