The Queen of the Ring: Sex, Muscles, Diamonds, and the Making of an American Legend was released in 2010 by Jeff Leen and was the inspiration behind the recent film on the life of Mildred Burke and the ascension of women’s professional wrestling in the U.S.

John Pollock & Neal Flanagan go through Leen’s book with the stories of Burke, June Byers, Billy Wolfe, Nell Stewart, Johnnie Mae Young, and the hardships the female wrestlers experienced. Plus, comparisons to the film and what was and wasn’t accurate in the adaptation.
