Rhodes and Cena duel on the microphone.
The opening segment of the 3/31 Monday Night Raw from London, England featured John Cena and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes dueling on the microphone.
As the segment was underway, Rhodes confirmed that him and Cena’s match will be headlining WrestleMania 41. Another confirmed main event for the two-night special is the Triple Threat with CM Punk, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.
Circling back to the in-ring segment, Rhodes brought up that Cena was chosen by one guy in a suit that is no longer at WWE and no one speaks about anymore. He added that if anyone is a ‘company creation,’ it’s Cena. Rhodes expressed his opinion that Cena did not leave WWE better than he found it. He said Cena created a bunch of ‘disenfranchised fans’ that made it easier for Rhodes to go elsewhere. Rhodes then said Cena sold out to The Rock.
The champion said Cena is still his hero, but he’s a piece of sh*t. Cena responded by saying he never left WWE and he always found a way to make things work. He added that Rhodes had to leave. Cena said he made empires for billionaires while all Rhodes did was take money from billionaire’s kids.
Rhodes closed his remarks by saying that at least the crowd has never chanted that he could not wrestle. Cena got back into the ring and took a swing at Rhodes, but Rhodes countered that into a Cross Rhodes.
