Mina Shirakawa said goodbye to prominent Joshi promotion STARDOM on Wednesday, wrestling her final match for them inside Korakuen Hall.
Shirakawa lost a 19-minute contest against Maika in Tokyo, Japan, this week, closing out a four-and-a-half-year run with the women’s wrestling promotion.
The Japanese talent is expected to join the AEW roster soon, becoming the latest crossover Joshi wrestler to ink a deal with the American promotion.
Shirakawa already had a brief stint in AEW last year, playing an integral role in the rivalry between Toni Storm and Mariah May.
The former Wonder of STARDOM Champion spoke to fans following her match today, thanking supporters and stating that her career will continue in the U.S.
Mina Shirakawa: "It was the support of the fans who really accepted me into STARDOM, and the comrades who fought as seniors who gave me strict guidance in this ring and in the dojo, and it was because of those people that I was able to walk as pro-wrestler Mina Shirakawa. The final match saw Shirakawa go up against her ally from the Empress Nexus Venus (formerly Club Venus) faction in STARDOM. She previously teamed alongside Maika and Xena to go on a run with the Artist of STARDOM Championships in 2024.
Shirakawa posted on social media about her time with Maika in the promotion before they met this evening.
いつもそばにいてくれた。
悔しい時は、いつも肩をかしてくれた。大好きなあなたに、最後まで胸を張れるような自分でいたいんだ。
