Highlights from the media call.
On Sunday, April 6th, All Elite Wrestling is presenting their second Dynasty pay-per-view. Ahead of the show, AEW President Tony Khan hosted a media call.
Along the way, Khan was asked about the proposed Bandido versus Chris Jericho ROH World Championship match and if it is still official for Dynasty. He stated that there’s one more episode of AEW programming left to go before the pay-per-view and added that Bandido never accepted Jericho’s mask versus hair challenge. There were ‘good reasons’ Khan never confirmed the match and a reason being ‘the availability of Bandido to do the match and have the match play out safely for him and for us.’
On the topic of Sting potentially inducting Lex Luger into the WWE Hall of Fame, Khan last spoke to Sting in March and that topic did not come up.
Elsewhere during the call, Khan was asked about the pushback to the spot from the AEW World Title Street Fight between Jon Moxley and Cope. A spiked-filled two-by-four was stuck to Moxley’s back and it took some pulling from Wheeler Yuta and referee Paul Turner to remove it. Khan described it as a ‘hardcore moment.’
