An interview with Butterbean to promote his match.
In March, renowned combat sports fighter Eric Esch a.k.a. Butterbean returned to pro wrestling. He competed twice for an independent promotion in South Bend, Indiana.
Butterbean is scheduled to be in action at the WrestleCon Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow. He’ll be going one-on-one with Minoru Suzuki and handling the officiating duties will be Dan Severn.
Justin Barrasso of Undisputed did a write-up about Butterbean and in the piece, the 77-10 boxer spoke about his fight against ‘Brawl For All’ winner Bart Gunn at WWE WrestleMania XV. He shared that he’s still friends with Gunn. Butterbean looked back on their fight and feels it would have been better for Gunn to slug it out instead of trying to box.
We’re still friends and we just spoke the other day. Bart (Gunn) should have just slugged it out with me. But he trained and tried to learn to box. That was his biggest downfall. He should have come out swinging. It didn’t matter–I was going to win, but that would have been his best chance to land a couple shots.
Brawl For All was covered by VICE’s Dark Side of the Ring program. That show is in its sixth season and POST Wrestling has an interview with the show’s co-creator Evan Husney at this link.
