Kingston wanted Garcia to shine at Double or Nothing.

The newest episode of the Way of the Blade podcast featured a lengthy chat with Eddie Kingston. Along the way, the topic of Anarchy in the Arena from AEW Double or Nothing 2022 came up.

The bout featured The Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho, Daniel Garcia, Jake Hager, Angelo Parker & Matt Menard) versus Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston, Mike Santana and Ortiz.

Kingston shared a note from the aftermath of the bout and admitted that he yelled at AEW’s production crew because he thought they did not put enough spotlight on what Daniel Garcia was doing during the match. After watching it over and realizing they did, he apologized to the crew. Kingston feels it was the best production of any match AEW has ever presented.

Thank you for telling me that because that’s what I wanted to do (spotlight Daniel Garcia in Anarchy in the Arena at AEW Double or Nothing 2022). There’s a story backstage of me screaming and yelling after the match… And I’m kind of pulling the curtain back a little bit, but I was worried about that they didn’t get enough of Danny in it, and course I didn’t know that because I don’t know what they’re shooting, and to me, the production people at AEW that night had the hardest job and did the best. I couldn’t believe it. I had to go apologize. They were having their meeting. The cameramen and everybody and I went over and said, ‘Hey, I wanna apologize for overreacting about you guys didn’t get enough of Danny.’ Because when I went back and watched it, they got everything I had wanted, without me even knowing and then they also got everything, everybody else too. Back and forth, back and forth. It was a crazy moment. They’d never shot anything like that before and to me, that was probably the best production AEW’s ever done. Because they were under the gun. They were under the gun to get everything, you know what I mean? And they did and I was proud of how Danny came out after that match.

The 2025 installment of Double or Nothing is coming up on May 25th from Glendale, Arizona. The finals of the men’s and women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournaments are going to take place at the pay-per-view.
