John Cena truly believes the time is now for his retirement as an in-ring performer.

While Cena remains a busy man in the world of acting and a relevant celebrity, the 47-year-old will be officially walking away from his lengthy career as a WWE wrestler with a year-long tour next year.

It is notoriously hard for wrestlers to officially call an end to their careers, with some walking back their claims of retirement after already making their goodbyes. For Cena, however, he claims that he’s ready to take his last bumps.

On the red carpet for the premiere of the Amazon Prime Video movie “Jackpot!” which features Cena, he had a positive attitude when talking to Denise Salcedo about his next steps.

“It’s something I’ve been preparing for for a long time,” Cena said, on his retirement from wrestling. “If you backtrack interviews, I started talking about that in maybe 2019. So I’m ready for it, and I think now is the perfect time to do it. I have a little bit of time in 2025 and the WWE has been awesome in working with schedules and everything. They thought it was a great idea, so they kind of ran with the idea. We expanded it to a year, 36 dates. I feel great. It’s a happy thing. I’m not going to tell anyone how to feel because I don’t believe in that, but I’m going to approach it with an upbeat attitude.”

Cena officially revealed his retirement plans at Money In The Bank this year, making a surprise appearance in Toronto.
