It looks like notable Luchador El Hijo del Vikingo will be back in the ring soon.
Vikingo has been added to a pair of shows from the Japanese wrestling promotion GLEAT on October 6 and 9, as announced Wednesday. He is among a few additions to their upcoming tour, including The Rascalz, Parker Boudreaux, and Sam Adonis.
The 27-year-old talent has notably been out of competition since February when he suffered a torn meniscus and ruptured ligament, causing surgery. The setback paused his activity amid the busy time of his entire career, coming off a year that saw him wrestle 109 times. He was continuing to receive more and more bookings in the U.S. while remaining an important asset in Mexico, most notably in AAA.
The injury put an end to his more than 800-day run as the AAA Mega Champion, which started back in 2021 and included numerous high-profile showdowns. The title reign saw him face Kenny Omega, Rey Fenix, Komander, Gringo Loco, and many others over the course of numerous years.
It seems like we are now just a few weeks away from his next run.
