AEW Collision returns to normal slot against seven college football games, UFC prelims

AEW Collision returned to its regular time slot this past Saturday while dropping to the lowest non-pre-emption audience in its history.

The September 14 taped edition of Collision from Dayton, Ohio, averaged 268,000 viewers and 107,000 viewers (0.08) in the 18-49 demographic, according to Programming Insider & Wrestlenomics.

The previous week’s episode aired on Friday on TNT averaging 157,000 viewers and 58,000 (0.04) in the demo.

Compared to the Saturday, August 31 edition of Collision, this past weekend’s episode saw a viewership decline of 7% and an 18-49 audience drop of 23%. It was Collision’s lowest audience on its regular night and time slot in the show’s history and second lowest 18-49 audience in its regular slot on TNT.

In the 18-49 demographic, males averaged 81,000 viewers, and females were at 33,000 viewers – declines of 10% and 33% respectively from two weeks ago.

Collision aired against seven college football games across broadcast and cable. Collision ranked seventh among prime-time cable programming, which was led by Texas vs. San Antonio on ESPN (1,480,000 viewers and 0.36 in 18-49), Northern Iowa vs. Nebraska on the Big Ten Network (904,000 and 0.18), and New Mexico vs. Auburn on ESPN2 (662,000 and 0.18).

Additional college games were airing head-to-head against Collision on ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox.

Collision also aired against the Noche UFC preliminary card, which streamed on ESPN+.

The episode was taped two nights prior in Dayton, Ohio, and included a main event between FTR and the Grizzled Young Vets. The show returns with a live episode this Saturday from Springfield, Massachusetts.
