Rob Van Dam discusses ‘short notice’ WWE SmackDown appearance, says legends filmed interviews while there

A brief recap of RVD’s return to WWE.

WWE SmackDown’s return to USA Network kicked off on September 13th. In addition to the in-ring action, there were multiple legends spotlighted throughout the night in the crowd such as Rob Van Dam, Ron Simmons, Queen Sharmell, Booker T, Teddy Long and Vickie Guerrero.

RVD recapped his experience on the newest edition of his 1 Of A Kind With RVD podcast. He said the appearance was short notice. Van Dam also mentioned that the legends did interviews while there, but he does not know where or when those interviews will air.

It was a one-day notice to fly out. Wednesday, ‘Sorry about the short notice. You have to leave tomorrow. But, are you available on Friday?’ And I was.

Did some interviews for some — I don’t know if it’s gonna be a DVD or it’s gonna be — actually, I think it might be a Netflix kind of release. I’m not really sure. But, we all did. We all took turns, like going back and doing some interviews and stuff so that was cool.

In early September, Van Dam revealed that he turned down being an interview subject in Netflix’s Vince McMahon docuseries. To read his explanation, click here.
