Eddie Kingston on recovery process: “If I’m not there to be in the ring, I don’t want to be there”.

Eddie Kingston is on the mend recovering from a litany of injuries earlier this year while itching to return.

The AEW performer was a guest on The DAVINci Report and spoke about the injury and his lengthy road to full strength.

In May, Kingston sustained multiple injuries including a fractured tibia, torn ACL, and strained meniscus that required surgery,

It’s been a process. It’s going good until my insurance acts up and that’s when I get annoyed. So, insurance is a fraud, folks.

I’m starting to get itchy at home because I can walk a little bit. I can lift weights now and do squats a little bit, not too low and now it’s at the point of, alright, let’s hurry this up, let’s get going.

Kingston wrestled Gabe Kidd at NJPW’s Resurgence in a No Rope Last Man Standing Match and took a suplex off the apron with both legs crashing into the guardrail and underwent surgery in July.

The performer noted that some people have suggested he could appear on AEW programming in a non-wrestling capacity but stated:

If I’m not there to be in the ring, I don’t want to be there. If I can’t get give you everything I have I don’t want to be there.

He said there were days when he was mentally defeated by the injury but is blessed to be with a company that is taking care of him financially during his time off.
