The premiere date is inching closer.

After five years, NXT’s run on the USA Network came to a close and the show will be airing weekly on the CW Network starting October 1st.

The brand’s first two shows on their new platform will emanate from outside of their home base in Orlando, Florida. The October 1st show is taking place at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois and the 10/8 show is emanating from The Factory in Chesterfield, Missouri.

Ahead of the premiere, NXT overseer Shawn Michaels spoke to Bill Jones of the Chicago Tribune. He stated that NXT on CW will have big changes, but he thinks that’s more from a look and physical standpoint.

Certainly we want to make a big splash on the CW Network. We’ll have some big changes, but I think more of that will be from a look and physical standpoint. We will still be what NXT is, which is bringing some of the most talented, young, diverse athletes in all of the nation, and developing them into the WWE superstars of tomorrow… The hunger, the passion that’s always been the core value of NXT is always going to be there. But certainly we’ll try to put on some pretty cool bells and whistles for the CW launch on October 1st.

As of this writing, below is the advertised lineup for the 10/1 NXT show:

  • NXT Championship: Ethan Page (c) vs. Trick Williams (Special Guest Referee: CM Punk)
  • NXT Women’s Championship: Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Giulia
  • Street Fight: Wes Lee vs. Zachary Wentz
  • Lola Vice & Jaida Parker vs. Fatal Influence
  • Appearance from WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair
  • Miz TV with Tony D’Angelo and NXT North American Champion Oba Femi
