The three-way was set up at the Dynamite Fifth Anniversary Show.

Kicking off the Five Year Anniversary edition of AEW Dynamite was an International Championship match between Ricochet and the champion Will Ospreay.

Their first go-round resulted in a double pin as both men’s shoulders were on the mat. They both wanted the match to continue and it was sanctioned. The bout was thrown out when Konosuke Takeshita ambushed both Ospreay and Ricochet.

Before Ospreay’s entrance, Don Callis told Kyle Fletcher they had a flight to catch and as they walked away, Takeshita stared Ospreay down.

It has since been made official that at AEW WrestleDream on October 12th, Ricochet, Ospreay and Takeshita will meet in a three-way with the International Championship on the line.

Below is the updated WrestleDream card:

  • AEW World Championship: Bryan Danielson (c) vs. Jon Moxley
  • TNT Championship: Jack Perry (c) vs. Katsuyori Shibata
  • ROH World Championship: Mark Briscoe (c) vs. Chris Jericho
  • Open Challenge: Darby Allin vs. TBA
  • AEW International Championship — Three-Way Match: Will Ospreay (c) vs. Ricochet vs. Konosuke Takeshita
