Ichikawa’s retirement match is scheduled for December 2024.
The final match of Konomama Ichikawa’s in-ring career is taking place on December 17th, 2024. Korakuen Hall in Tokyo is playing host and the match will happen under the Dragongate Japan Pro-Wrestling banner.
Dragongate revealed Ichikawa’s opponent for his final match is NJPW President and eight-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi. It’ll be Tanahashi’s debut for Dragongate.
Ichikawa’s run in Dragongate started in 2004 and he’s wrestled for the promotion every year since then. He’s donned several different aliases such as Stalker Ichikawa, Jushin Thunder Ichikawa and Stan Ichikawa.
As for Tanahashi, his 25th Anniversary match is taking place at NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling on October 14th.
