WWE NXT notes: Triple Threat to determine Trick’s Halloween Havoc opponent, Orton def. Je’Von, new DELTA vignette

NXT General Manager Ava set it up that on 10/15, there will be a Triple Threat match featuring Ethan Page, Je’Von Evans and Wes Lee to determine who’ll challenge Trick Williams for the NXT Championship at Halloween Havoc.

A new vignette aired for DELTA.

In the main event of the program, Randy Orton defeated Je’Von Evans. The conclusion of the bout saw Evans go for a top rope maneuver and Orton attempted to catch him mid-air for an RKO, but it did not connect. Orton picked Evans up and gave him an RKO for the win. Post-match, he raised Evans’ hand. Evans was placed in the aforementioned Triple Threat as a result of his performance against Orton.

Lola Vice was talking to Ava in her office about wanting to fight Jaida Parker. Nikkita Lyons made her television return and bickered with Vice. A match between them was made official for 10/15. Lyons made her in-ring return at a house show in late September.

Starting off the show was NXT Champion Trick Williams. He was interrupted by Wes Lee and then joining the mix to celebrate with Trick was Intercontinental Champion Jey Uso. Out came Women’s North American Champion Kelani Jordan and Women’s Tag Team Champions Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair for their six-woman tag match. There was a shot with all of the champions in the ring.

Ethan Page interrupted rapper Sexyy Red’s in-ring concert in retaliation for Red interrupting his impromptu meeting with Adam Pearce on Monday Night Raw. Before his match against Randy Orton, Je’Von Evans joined the mix, took Page out and danced with Sexyy Red.

The duo of Nathan Frazer and Axiom retained their NXT Tag Team Championships over A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller).

Adding on to the lineup for 10/15 is the following:

  • Return of Halloween Havoc wheel
  • Tony D’Angelo’s North American Championship celebration
  • Ridge Holland vs. Riley Osborne (w/ Thea Hail)
  • Gentlemen’s dual with Lexis King and Oro Mensah
